Welcome to the very first week of mandatory online learning! I sincerely hope that each and every one of you is safe, sound, and continuing to be most excellent. So far the majority of you have taken full opportunity to make sure you submit all the work and missing assessments you may be having in my class, which coincidentally makes me stoked. However, if you are in that dwindling boat of people who have yet to do anything to make up the work, you need to take the myriad of chances I have given you, and complete it before the end of April. As once this hits, I can no longer accept work for the things that we had done in February, as I have already extended due dates beyond where I was originally going to. But do not fret, for you still have plenty of time! The next big thing you need to be aware of, is about how this is going to become the new way you get information. While this is unfortunate because I prefer to see each of you daily, I am going to continue to try and be entertaining and informative. You will be getting weekly updates and a (hopefully) single weekly planner with easy to understand directions about what is optional as opposed to mandatory. Just as an FYI, this week the email will go out to all my wonderful students and their fantastic guardians, but starting next week I will send it only to students, so if guardians want it, make sure to ask your student for it! Finally, as y'all know, my wife also teaches, which means in our small living situation we have had to delegate time to respond in videos, so keep that in mind if it takes me a little bit longer than usual.

Please note that if you need help, I will be standing by my during office hours on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 1-2 PM to answer your questions, if you have them, to get back to you as quickly as possible. If you ask questions outside this time, I will respond within a reasonable about of time. For the week, you have a few optional wonderful videos to watch! As you have seen in previous class periods, you get to watch another episode of Mankind. This episode does a wonderful job of identifying the impacts and its place in history. I have made a link to the video, but it is easy enough to find on YouTube. The next fantastic video is curtesy of the BBC. This video is specifically talking about some of the big reasons why the industrial Revolution happened in Britain as opposed to another area in the world. There are guided questions and notes linked below for both videos. I hope you find the two videos interesting and insightful. For those of you that have already subscribed and watched my YouTube videos, these videos continue to build on the PowerPoints and voice overs that you have seen. I am going to be putting these videos up when I can to help you interact the PowerPoints in a fun way. Please remember to send me questions if you are uncertain about anything in the video or want to know more!
